Edison Cylinder Reproduction



This page contains some samples of the audio recorded from Edison phonograph cylinders played on the c. 1910 Edison Fireside phonograph above using the reproducer transducer assembly shown below. The process is described in detail here.



The recordings are taken from Blue Amberol 4 minute cylinders and are saved as Windows Media Audio (WMA) files. Each recording is an extract of about a minute from the cylinders and is between 150Kb - 250Kb in size. The following are all recorded using the transducer and cleaned up using computer software.
